Melody was two once more, like she was every night since the crash. She was taken from the wreckage, and watched, restrained, as the unconscious bodies of her parents were carried out as well. She never saw them again… She remembered waking up in some kind of cage in some sort of laboratory… The people in white coats came and started to probe her, poke her with needles, and do some horrible experiments on her. She was terrified and couldn’t control herself, so she constantly busted into a small flaming ball. At first, she didn’t know that is what the people in white coats wanted and they succeeded in their objective. It was when she heard them talk about dissecting her like they had done with the other specimen that she decided to escape. She had melted the cage she was locked in, and climbed into the air ducts to make her escape. She must have spent hours in that metal maze, until finally she found the grate that led out. As she ran from the building and property, she heard shouts of ’Get her! She must not escape!!’ as others chased her.
The redheaded teenager sat straight up, sweating the liquid that makes her so unique. She sighed as the nightmare-memory faded from her conscious thoughts. She swung her legs off her borrowed bed to land on the floor of her borrowed room. She was lucky to have found a room without too much questions asked, and at a reasonable price as well. She glanced at the clock that had hung up on the wall and noted that she was running a bit late for work. She hurried about her room throwing off her night clothes and throwing on the clothes she wears for her job. She flew out of her room through the kitchen and out the back door announcing her departure for work.
Melody ran all the way to the restaurant where she was a part-time waitress to pay for the room and other things she needed. It was only four blocks down the street. However when she got there the place was in chaos, the tables and chairs were knocked over and overturned. She ventured quietly into the establishment toward the back were the owner’s office was. So far she was lucky to not run into anyone along the way, but there was no telling if anyone was waiting for her when she got there. She was going to have to take her chances, and see if her boss was alright.
She found him, sitting in the mess that once was his organized office. She asked him what had happened, and he told her that military looking personal came looking for her. ’No! Not again! I liked it here! They’ve found me! I’ve got to go!’ She thought to herself and turned around to face the way she came. “George, I have to go. I will not be back… Goodbye.” She told the man and ran. She could feel the panic start to rise in her, and she knew what happens when that feeling gets too high. Things start to burn. She needed to find a safe, unused place to vent. She thought of the old abandoned construction site on the edge of the city, and ran straight for it. She hoped that she would make it in time, and if she did that some humans were not hanging around the place…
